This juvenile/first-basic nominate Yellow-legged Gull (Larus michahellis michahellis) was photographed by Ronald Klein in Baltic Germany in September 1995. Ronald comments: "The reddish-brown colouration of the plumage is a good feature for identification from juvenile Herring Gulls. The wing-coverts are heavily-barred like juvenile Great Black-backed Gull; this is not typical for michahellis. Colour-ringed as chick in Italy."
