This first-basic Iceland Gull
(Larus glaucoides kumlieni) was photographed
in the Coastal Plain near Houston, Texas on March 06, 2008; note that active molt of some of the rear head/neck feathers may have changed the perceived structure, and that the somewhat large bill indicates it's a male:
