This slide arrived labelled as a second-basic Iceland Gull (Larus glaucoides kumlieni) photographed by Tony Leukering at Tullytown Landfill, Penn. on 24th December 1991. I have some serious misgivings about this bird: it looks too large, too big-headed (and small-eyed), and too short-winged for ICGU - in fact, it seems to show some features of a small-billed (= female) GWGU, or a barrovianus GLGU, or maybe it's a hybrid (what parentage?); any comments on this bird?
