This retarded immagture gull was photographed at the Corpus Christi landfill, Nueces County, Texas on February 15, 2007. The mantle shade was somewhat paler than a typical Laughing Gull and clearly darker than a typical Herring Gull, when in direct comparison and at the same angle. What cycle is it in? The presence of a P10 mirror plus the adult-like inner primaries point towards 3C, yet the extensive brown-toned coverts plus at least one all-brown secondary point towards 2C:
