This first-cycle large gull was photographed at Calaveras Lake, San Antonio, Bexar county, Texas on March 09, 2014; In the field via telescope it looked fairly typical for first-cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull (although rump/utcs were sparsely-marked), but it has an oddly pale mantle/scap area, and the inner primaries are also towards the pale end. NOTE that digital images (with DSLR at effective 640mm) at this range and in a circumstance with much heat haze may be distorting tones (?):
