PERU May 2010

From May 02 to 19, 2010, Sheridan Coffey and myself visited north and central Peru with Kolibri Expeditions; On May 11, then again on May 14 and 15 we visited Aguas Verdes, Rioja, and Moyobamba in the central Mayo Valley:

Blue Ground-Dove - common.
Fork-tailed Palm-Swift - fairly common.
White-chested Swift - a pair seen; see second entry on this page.
White-chinned Swift - at least one seen; see third entry on this page.
Sapphire-spangled Emerald - a handful seen.
Cinereous-breasted Spinetail - one showed fairly well eventually!
Mishana Tyrannulet - ENDEMIC - excellent walk-away looks.
Peruvian Tyrannulet - ENDEMIC - a few seen.
Black-capped Donacobius - just one seen.
Southern Rough-winged Swallow - common.
Black-bellied (Huallaga) Tanager - ENDEMIC - a few seen, but never close.
Paradise Tanager - a few seen.
