As pretty as they normally are, this Bordered Patch Chlosyne lacinia: is aberrant, in that the orange on the hindwing extends below the line of spots to the submargin, and on the forewing there is a complete set of orange submarginal marks; also it was substantially larger than the standard Bordered Patches feeding nearby (the skipper sharing these coneflowers is a female Sachem Atalopedes campestris):-
