More photos from December 20, 2006 of this second cycle possible Atlantic Yellow-legged Gull from the Coastal Plain near Houston and Galveston, Texas. NOTE: I have now mixed in some images of Yellow-legged Gulls from Iberia and the Canaries for comparison - each is labelled internally; all the unlabelled images are of the Texas bird.

In the field in direct comparison to Laughing Gulls at the same angle, it looked to be slightly paler mantled. Note the large size, bulky structure and thick legs:
